About Fr. Amir

Dear my beloved Parishioners,

Cordial greetings from Father Amir, Your Pastor. I am very humbled and privileged to be your Pastor at St. Bernard, Abbotsford and St. Louis, Dorchester. I immensely thank the Almighty for this precious opportunity to serve the people of God.
I would like to introduce myself. I am Fr. Arockia Amirtha Raj Stanislaus, called as Father Amir. I belong to the diocese of Sivagangai, India. I was ordained to the Priesthood in 2010, in the year of Priesthood. After my ordination, I served in two Parishes as Associate Pastor. I was secretary to the Bishop of Sivagangai for a year. Then I served as the secretary to the Diocesan Communication Commission for three years. From June, 2017 until May, 2022, I did Pastoral Ministry in the diocese of La Crosse. I served as Parochial Administrator at Immaculate Conception Parish, Alma Center and St. Joseph’s Parish, Fairview for six months. Then I was appointed Pastor at Sacred Heart Parish, Spring Valley, Sacred Heart Parish, Elmwood and St. Luke Parish, Boyceville to serve for four years.
God blessed me with an opportunity to spend a year at Casa Hogar in Peru, an orphanage run by the diocese of La Crosse. I have developed a missionary spirit as well as language (Spanish) skill. I have Masters’ degree in Christian Studies and Social Work.  My Parents, Stanislaus and Maria Selvam, are alive and they are in good health. I have three brothers Jeyaraj, Jegan and James. Mr. Jeyaraj and Mrs. Shantha have three boys (Thilson, Alwin and Melvin); Mr. Jerald and Mrs. Cecilia have two boys and one girl (Selvan, Jaison and Merlin). Mr. James and Mrs. Rexilin Mary has one girl ( Jeronik).

Within my Pastoral ministry, I have developed a great devotion to Mother Mary. I always promote praying the Rosary every day. I have also founded AVE MARIA SOCIETY which is committed to promote FAMILY PRAYER (ROSARY) and CHARITY work back in India.

In St. Mary’s, Colby, I have started PILGRIM VIRGIN HOME VISITATION (Travelling Mary) and Rosary procession. I am hoping to start something like in our parishes in the near future. I would like to visit your families to pray the rosary with you and bless your homes. I like visiting the sick and the elderly especially those hospitalized and homebound.

The diocese of La Crosse trusted in my ability to serve three parishes and St. Mary Catholic School. This is a huge responsibility but I always believe that God will never give you beyond your abilities. I hope to do the best I can with your support and cooperations. I sincerely thank Father Tim Oudenhoven, my prede-
cessor who has done a lot to our Parishes. I doubt that I can do all he has done but I can continue most of the things has done with the support of Father Keith
Kitzhaber.

I assure you that I will spend most of my time in showing the seed of Faith in the parishes as well as school.

“Let us come together and work together to build the Kingdom of God on this earth.”
Kindly keep me in your prayers,
Yours sincerely in Christ Jesus,
Father Amir.
